-The Qualifier-
From April 15th to June 24th,
2005, the Golden Tee players in the state of Ohio competed in an
online Golden Tee Fore! qualifier. By playing a minimum of seven
games during the qualifying period, players competed for best
average score in order to receive an invite to the live Championship
Final.
Sonu Khatri of Dayton, Ohio, was the
top qualifier with a 28.6 scoring average and Dean Liakakos,
also of Dayton, qualified second with a -27.1 average.
A grand total of 300 players qualified for
the live Championship Final
-The Bonus League Points Challenge-
Players qualifying for the final competed for
more than just average score. For every 10,000 GTGA League Points
accumulated throughout the qualifying period, players received one
ticket in the Bonus League Points Challenge.
Players who attended and won any of the
multiple Gentleman Jack Closest-to-the-Pin Party Nights received
DOUBLE TICKETS into the drawing!
Thousands of dollars worth in bonus drawing
prizes were raffled off at the live Championship Final. Results

-The Championship-
73 Ohioans headed out to the Roberts
Convention Center in Wilmington, OH, on July 8th & 9th to
compete in the Gentleman Jack Championship Final. Over $10,000 cash
was in contention for the qualifiers, along with a huge supply of
door prizes and giveaways!
The players were flighted in two separate
divisions based on their prior skill ranking, with 36 players in
Flight A and 37 in Flight B. The contest began with a 4-course
qualifier where players competed for best score in order to qualify
for the 32-man double elimination tournaments.
Two-time Golden Tee Team USA member, Andy
Haas, was the top qualifier in Flight A with a score of 93 and
96,305 Great Shot Points. Paul Gall was number one in Flight
B with 64 and 29,136 Great Shot Points.
After the top 32-players in each flight were
determined, the play format moved on to head-to-head double
elimination. This high-stakes portion of the tournament took place
on Saturday, July 8th, following a grueling Friday night
full of qualification. Check out the final results below!
