Golden Tee® Michigan State Championship  |  Over $20,000 in Prizes Tournament of Champions!

Two months of exciting Golden Tee Golf in Michigan has come to an end – in grand style. The Golden Tee Michigan State Championship was a two-part, statewide tournament with over $20,000 in prizes at stake. To qualify, players competed for lowest 20-game average from September 1st to October 31st on participating Michigan GT machines. Qualifiers were then invited to compete in a live championship final held November 20th and 21st in Ann Arbor, MI.

The festivities began with a Friday night Scotch-Doubles tournament for all of the Michigan State Championship competitors. Here were the results:

104 players competed in the championship final event and they were split into two flights based on their Part-One qualifying scores. Each flight participated in a 4-round qualifier to determine the seeding for 32-man, double-elimination match play. Three time Golden Tee Player of the Year, Jason Matkovich, qualified number one in Flight A with a score of –100 and 87,424 Great Shot Points. Graham Forbes was the top qualifier in Flight B with -71 and 34,560 Great Shot Points.

With tons of prize money at stake, match play was full of drama and excitement. Here were the final results and prizes:

Bonus Drawing
Players received 1 ticket into a bonus drawing for every 10,000 GTGA League Points they accumulated during Part One of the Golden Tee Michigan State Championship. The drawing took place at the finals immediately after the qualifying rounds. Tons of top dollar prizes were given away; here is the list of winners:
