The Texas State Boots & Birdies Golden Tee Open was a three-part tournament that commenced on February 1^st, 2004.  Players who finished in the top-ten at their favorite location for “Most Birdies” in GTGA League Play moved on to the second round.  Beginning March 19^th, part-one qualifiers competed in a statewide “Most League Points” competition.  Players were split into five regions throughout the state, and the top 50 leaders in each region qualified to compete in the Championship Finals.

The Texas State Boots & Birdies Golden Tee Open Final Competition was held at No Frills Grill in Arlington, Texas.  A 4-Round qualifier took place on Saturday, May 15^th where total score and Great Shot Points were used to determine the final seeding.  Daniel Gralapp earned the top seed, scoring  -100 with 94,968 Great Shot Points.   The top 50 qualifiers then moved on to Sunday’s final head-to-head double-elimination tournament.

Dayton Root was awarded a coveted Tournament of Champions berth as well as a 100^th Anniversary Custom 1200 Sterling Silver & Black Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, provided by Longhorn Harley-Davidson/Buell, Grand Prairie, TX (Tax & License excluded).

Daniel Gralapp took home a $2,500 Best Buy Gift Certificate for his second place performance, while Tim Baker won a $1,000 Travel Voucher for finishing third.  The top-twelve competitors all received their choice of Bollé Sunglasses ($150 value).

Throughout the online qualifying period of the Texas State Boots & Birdies Golden Tee Open, players received one ticket into a special drawing for every 10,000 League Points they accumulated.  Tons of great prizes were given away to lucky winners throughout the Final Competition weekend.
