John Thurston Wins Top Dairy State Golden Tee Honor

From September 1st – December 25th, 2004, Wisconsin Golden Tee players competed for Best Average Score (20 Rounds) to qualify for the live Championship Final at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  The top qualifiers were invited to participate in the event which was put on by the Wisconsin Amusement and Music Operators and Incredible Technologies.

136 players traveled to the Kalahari Resort on January 21st, 2005, in the midst of a cold Wisconsin blizzard on a quest to be crowned the Wisconsin State GT Champion.  Over $18,000 worth of cash and prizes awaited them at the tournament, along with the world’s largest indoor water park and 29 tournament-ready Golden Tee machines inside the resort’s premiere banquet room.  Along with the tournament machines, two Silver Strike Bowling games and a Golden Tee LIVE were showcased at the event.

With so many players in attendance, a flighting system was used in order give each player a fair chance at the prize pool, which was split evenly among the two.  A four-course qualifier was used in order seed players, of which the top 32 players in each flight moved on to double elimination match play.  Scroll down for results!
