 The Golden Tee Cascade
Cup Championship took place at the Ellensburg Inn in Ellensburg, Washington,
on November 19th & 20th, 2004. During the past 2-months players qualified in
GTGA League Play, with the top 100 East and top 100 West qualifiers being
invited to compete in the championship final. Also invited were
Closest-to-the-Pin winners, who won "Walk-On Spots" for their first place
performance at their local bars.
Ninety-two players competed in the Cascade Cup Championship Final. $5,300
was paid out to the top 32 players and over $5,000 in prizes was raffled off
to winners in the League Points Bonus Drawing (1 ticket per 10,000 League
Points). Michelob ULTRA® sponsored the event and provided prize giveaways
for all players. Everyone received a prize!
The final match was between Jeff Vordahl of Ephrata, Washington, and Mark
Firestone of Everett, Washington, on Painted Gorge. Firestone fell behind
early with an errant shot into the trees. Though he nearly made a comeback,
it proved to be not enough to catch up to Vordahl, who was on fire all
throughout the entire day. The final Championship Round scores were Vordahl
-24 and Firestone -21. Third place went to Craig Reiger, while K.R. Valiton,
Jr took home fourth. The entire 32-place payout and prizes are as follows:
