2003 Golden Tee World Championship     “The World vs. the United States ”

        Members of TEAM USA! earn the following
  • The opportunity to be crowned the Golden Tee World Champion.

  • All-expenses-paid trip to Orlando, Florida including airfare and hotel.

  • Special TEAM USA! apparel including exclusive caps, shirts, and jacket.

  • Special Sunday night international reception at Friday’s Front Row to meet the players from around the world.

  • Special Monday night banquet for the awarding of the World Cup to the winning team.

  • At least $1,000 and the chance to win $15,000 from a total purse of $57,000.

        Format

Day One |  A 16-member International Team comprised of 2 South Africans, 2 New Zealanders, 2 Australians, 4 players from Great Britain, and 6 Canadians will compete against a 16-member US team in a Ryder Cup-like format to determine who wins the team competition.

  • 48 matches with one point at stake in each match 

  • 24.5 points needed to win the team championship

  • Each participant will play four 18-hole rounds during the team competition – one during
    Alternate Shot, one during Alternate Hole, and two during Stroke Play

  • Alternate Shot (foursomes) competition = 8 points

  • Alternate Hole (foursomes) competition = 8 points

  • Stroke Play (twosomes head-to-head) = 32 points

At the end of Day One we will crown the team champion at a special banquet.  The World Cup will be awarded to the winning team and kept for the next year in the offices of the winning International partner.

Day Two |  The International team and the US team will play off among each other in single elimination matches to decide national champions.  The International Champ and the US Champ then face off in a double elimination final.  The runners-up will then play for third and fourth place in a single-elimination match.  The winner will be declared the 2003 Golden Tee World Champion, be inducted into the Golden Tee Society, and win $15,000.

        Qualifying Rules

To enter the online qualifying portion of the Team USA contest, select League Play from the selection screen and insert the appropriate fee.

Enter your full name and social security number using the trackball or your use your Golden Tee Gold Card. This information is used for verification purposes.

Use your real name and Social Security Number or your score may be invalidated.

Profanity, vulgarity, invalid names and invalid Social Security Numbers will be automatically removed from the Leaderboards. All players must shoot their own scores. Posting scores for another player is a violation of the rules and may result in the invalidation of all scores from both players.

You must be 21 years or older to enter the contest and claim a prize. Misuse of or tampering with the machine or other related equipment may disqualify the player and/or location from the tournament.

Players can enter and compete in the contest as often as desired. Leaderboards displayed on the official Team USA contest website (www.goldentee.com) are usually updated every 48 hours. Players are ranked based on their highest historical ITS tournament division over the last 2 years.

The top 24 qualifiers in each of the three divisions will be invited to a live Golden Tee tournament in the Chicago area on October 17-19. This live tournament will determine the players for Team USA.

Qualifiers must sign a written claim form and present a copy of a driver’s license or other picture ID containing the winner’s social security number.

The contest is subject to rules and procedures of Incredible Technologies, Inc., the machine location, and federal and state law. Void where prohibited. Contest rules are subject to change.

Malfunctions void all plays and refunds are given at the discretion of each contest location for paid entry fees only. Incredible Technologies shall decide all filed grievance claims, and their decisions are final and claims are limited to refund of entry fee only.

Employees of Incredible Technologies, Inc. and manufacturers of games used for the contest and their immediate families are not eligible.

All Team USA members will be expected to perform certain duties to positively promote Golden Tee Golf and the World Championship. These duties include wearing the official Team USA clothing provided to them by Incredible Technologies at all official events; being interviewed by television, radio, and newspapers; not promoting any competitor, company or product during the event; not drinking alcohol to excess during official tournament activities; and in general conducting one’s self in a lawful and respectful manner. Good sportsmanship is expected of all participants. Fighting, swearing or other abuse to players, observers, or the machines will not be tolerated and will subject the player to disqualification. Any violation of these rules may result in the expulsion of the player from Team USA and the World Championship tournament, and forfeiture of any prize money.
