Lifetime Holes-in-One: 641
Best Score Ever: -31
2003 – 04 Earnings: $12,737

Chris Litzinger, or “Litz” as his GT peers have tagged him, has been playing since 2001 and began the ritual strictly for entertainment purposes. He has since charged his way through the ITS divisions to reach Gold and is now competing in his first ever Golden Tee World Championship.

When he’s not drinking Blue Moon and spinning the trackball at his home bar, Snows Lake, the 24-year-old can be found picking guitar strings or at the local gym weight training in his spare time.

Chris says that the elusive “game glitch” is his favorite part of Golden Tee, so long as it works in his favor. After coming so close to making Team USA in the past, Chris is very happy to be heading to Orlando this year. “It’s nice to know that I can shoot with the best of them,” he said.

Chris Longino

Gold Card # 301526
Nickname: “Gino”

Lifetime Holes-in-One: 30
Best Score Ever: -26
2003 – 04 Earnings: $330

Every major sporting event needs its Cinderella story and the Golden Tee World Championship would be inadequate without its own Bronze dark horse, Chris Longino.

Hailing from the humble town of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Longino is a self-taught Golden Tee star with a few short years of experience and a bright future ahead of him. With his shocking –63 in October’s three-course live qualifier, Longino finished as the number one Bronze shooter in what was his first major live event.

The World Championship will be a baptism by fire for this 21-year-old rookie, but it is guaranteed that his face and name will become more familiar to players throughout the game. “I am very excited,” Chris said. “The thought of representing my country in a competition is simply overwhelming!”

Bob Niehaus

Bob Niehaus began playing Golden Tee in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois, on the original version in 1996. Though he never won a major live event, Bob’s scores prove that he is for real.

With a –65 in the three course Team USA qualifier, the unknown Silver Division 33-year-old shocked the field with his impressive shooting and is hoping to match his performance in Orlando.

Bob can often be found spinning 18-holes at Shooters Bar & Grill in Rockford while sipping on a cold MGD. When he isn’t working on his Golden Tee skills, Bob enjoys heading to the local bowling alley for some ten-pin action.

When asked his sentiments about the World Championship, Bob replied “It will be a huge honor to play head-to-head with people from around the world.”

Jimmy Parker has been a top Golden Tee competitor since the dawn of Golden Tee Fore! back in 2000. A web site developer by trade, Jimmy and his wife, Kate, call St. Louis, Missouri, their home.

When he is not spending hours working on his game at his home bar, The Grappa Grill, Jimmy enjoys a more quiet atmosphere either fishing or just relaxing in front of his television.

Though the 2004 World Championship marks Jimmy’s first chance for the coveted title, he is as happy about his comrades making the team as he is with himself. “I shot like I knew I was capable of, but I am much more proud of these other guys,” he said. “Way to go Harlow and Litzinger, you deserve it!”

Stan and his family currently reside in Walker, Michigan, a suburb of Grand Rapids, where he works as a mortgage broker. “Raz”, as he is warmly referred to within the player community, enjoys basketball and running when he is not teeing off at his home bar, Stockbridge Pub.

Stan plays Golden Tee with his thumbs mostly, using his palm exclusively on long drives. In regards to the World Championship, Stan said, “I am very proud to be representing the USA. I can’t wait to play against people from all around the world.”

The 2004 World Championship marks the most important tournament in Rosen’s young Golden Tee career and is proof that this talented 21-year-old has a promising future.

Rosen loves the game because the weather conditions are always great for Golden Tee. He refers to his playing style as “a dedicated palmer with a thumb twist”. When Rosen is not spinning rounds in his favorite watering hole, The Last Mango, he enjoys playing tennis, real golf and traveling.

Rosen is excited to represent the U.S. Golden Tee community in this year’s World Championship.

It has been a triumphant year thus far for Marc Sameroff, or “Tut” as he is more commonly referred to by his GT peers. Along with his coveted qualification for Team USA, the 32-year-old computer technician qualified for the Golden Tee Tournament of Champions by winning his first ITS tournament last May. Not bad for a guy who began playing in 2003!

Hailing from Sin City, Tut can be found playing Golden Tee at the Kopper Keg and is always thirsty for a Jaegerbomb or two.

When asked how he felt after qualifying for the tournament, he replied, “At first I was pumped. Then I realized others weren’t as fortunate and I got sad,” he joked.

As one of two Minnesotans to make Team USA, Will Sandstad brings an added dimension of skill and ability to this year’s World Championship. A player who thrives on risk vs. reward shots, Will is one of the few 100% “thumbers” to have made the prestigious squad this year.

“I play aggressive yet level headed,” the 26-year-old Silver Qualifier said. “Now if I can just play consistent I will be in great shape.”

Will resides in Minneapolis with his wife, Liz. When he is not playing GT at Champps in Eden Prairie, Will enjoys playing more active sports like basketball, baseball, mountain biking and inline skating.
