Anthony Goertz - World Team Captain

Anthony’s hopes that the third time is the charm as he competes in his third consecutive World Championship. One of the steadiest players in the game, Anthony is highly regarded on a team that expects to give the Americans a run for their money this year. His favorites places to play Golden Tee are The Press Box and Original’s, where he enjoys a cold Moosehead between shots.

Anthony echoes many of his fellow players by saying his favorite feature of Golden Tee are the great players he meets wherever he plays.

An 8-handicapper on the real links, Pony is a straight palmer when spinning the trackball. When asked his thoughts about this year’s World Championship, he responded, “It’s just as big a thrill as the first time around!”

Nick Feijo

A rookie on the formidable Canadian team, Nick enjoys playing Golden Tee at this favorite pub, Sharkey’s Entertainment, where you can find him most nights sipping a Blue Light. Playing at least 15 hours each week has kept Nick’s skills honed to a razor’s edge. When he isn’t playing Golden Tee, Nick enjoys gambling – especially poker.

Nick says that the best part of Golden Tee is the friends he’s made through the sport, and is looking forward to competing in Orlando. “I am very happy and am looking forward to a great experience,” he said.

Tim Glenn

Tim is regarded as one of the top players in the world and is competing in his third consecutive World Championship. Tim has been the World Team’s captain each year and is noted for his keen sense of strategy in slotting his players against the appropriate American.

Original’s in Toronto is Tim’s favorite Golden Tee location and he enjoys a cold Molson Canadian when playing.

Last year’s runner-up to champion, Chris Eversole, Tim hopes to come out on top this time. “Second place was nice,” he said. “First would be better. But I’m just happy to be here hanging out with all the guys.”

Jarrett Keele

JD arrives from the West to round out Team Canada. The winner of numerous tournaments in the Calgary area and a veteran of the World Championship, JD brings experience to a World Squad that is hungry for victory.

JD plays most of his Golden Tee at Fox and Hounds and drinks Keith’s between spins of the trackball. His girlfriend, Taiya, is supportive on his GT playing – as long as he’s winning – and he describes his playing style as a combination of both thumbs and palms.

When asked what he thought about making Team Canada again this year, JD said, “It was great fun last year, and I’m looking forward to spending some time in Florida with everyone.”

Enzo Polidori
 

A regular a Sharkey’s, Enzo enjoys a cold Bud when playing Golden Tee. Enzo’s hobbies include chess and playing online poker. His two boys, David and Andrew, keep him busy too.

Enzo hopes to bring home the $15,000 first-place prize, but says that his wife, Janice, is supportive of his play anyway.

This two-time Team Canada member cites “the challenge and friendships” as the most important features of Golden Tee. And that’s exemplified by his statement regarding returning to Orlando. “I’m excited about making the team again, but even more so because my good friend, Nick Feijo made it too!

Ben Zeidenberg

Another regular at Originals, Ben enjoys to play Golden Tee a few nights each week and sip on his favorite Canadian beer, Labatt’s Sterling. Ben has a competitive streak that extends beyond GT with bridge and real golf as two important interests. The winner of this year’s Ontario Open is hoping to bring back the $15,000 check and world title to his lovely wife, Barbie.

A World Championship rookie, Ben had been knocking on the Team Canada door for the past two years. “It’s an amazing feeling to finally make the team,” he said. I’m truly looking forward to the trip to Orlando. It should be a fantastic time!”

World Team – SOUTH AFRICA

John Hobson

In the short time Golden Tee has been available for play in South Africa, John Hobson has become one of the nation’s foremost players. A World Championship rookie in 2004, the 23-year-old is hoping to serve the South African GT community proud with a strong performance in Orlando.

A regular at Shark Alley in Umkomaas, “Big Bad John” enjoys relaxing on the links or at his favorite fishing hole when he is not playing GT.

John is very proud of making the World Team and is looking forward to the competition in Orlando.

Riaan Lesch

Riaan Lesch has become one of South Africa’s most recognizable Golden Tee players not only for his first-rate ability, but also as the driver of the Golden Tee Car.

Hailing from Bellville, Cape Town, with his wife, Elana, when Riaan is not rolling 18-holes at his local pub, he enjoys golfing outside on any of South Africa’s gorgeous courses. Riaan has also become a friendly face in GT chat rooms around the world where he picks up tips and tricks to better his game.

“I’ve been chatting with players all around the world,” Riaan said. “I am looking forward to putting some faces with the names. I am hoping to learn a lot and I am honored to represent my country in the event,” he added.
