Meet TEAM USA!

Meet the members of Team USA that will represent America in the 2005 Golden Tee World Championship on November 14th & 15th at Friday's Front Row in Orlando,
Florida!

Team USA is a sampling of the greatest Golden Tee players in America and, arguably, the world. After two grueling months of online qualification and an intense live qualifier in Atlanta, thousands of players have now been distilled to sixteen and make up the best of the Red, White and Blue. After being upset in 2004, Team USA hopes to bring the cup back to American soil this time around.

The heartwarming story of this humble 31-year-old bagel baker winning the 2004 Golden Tee World Championship has been told by a myriad of newspapers, magazines and television stations throughout the year. While one would assume this fame might go to Jeff Harlow’s head, this native of Florissant, Missouri, remains composed.

“I still can’t believe I won the Championship last year,” Jeff explains. “It felt like it happened so fast because after I won I had to catch a flight to get home for work the next day. It took about three days to REALLY sink in that I was the Champion,” he adds.

Within hours of winning the prestigious title in ‘04, Jeff returned to his job in Florissant where he works at a town-favorite bakery. While his profession may have originally earned him the nickname “Doughboy”, the moniker now represents the astounding amount of the “real dough” that Jeff has won in the past year.

Jeff and his wife, Becky, look forward to seeing everyone in Orlando this November.

Dean Liakakos – 5-Time Player of the Year

Player of the Year Champion: 2005
Team USA Member: 2002, 2003, 2004

Take a look back at Golden Tee Golf’s auspicious history and rarely will the name “Dean Liakakos” not be involved. Since 1998 when he spun his first trackball competitively, Dean has been called a competitor, a leader and a friend to nearly everyone associated with the game.

No matter the accolades this 39-year-old pool hall owner receives, Dean loves the game for the people associated with it. “I know I keep repeating this,” Liakakos explains, “but it’s the people that make this game amazing. The World Championship is one of the best experiences I have ever had,” he adds.

Truer words couldn’t be spoken. The 2005 World Championship marks the fourth year of this grand event and Liakakos is officially the only player who has competed for the title every year. While he may have the most experience in the event, Dean has never won the title and hopes to add it to his remarkable list of accomplishments.

Known for being one of the best “thumbers” in the game, Dean is ready to help the U.S. win back the title in Orlando this year.

Brant Arrington

Gold Card # 215262
Nickname: “Oso”
Age: 26
Hometown: Las Vegas, NV
Marital Status: Wife – Dee
Daughters – Taylor, 9; Kameryn, 3
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -18.56
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 444
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -29

Brant Arrington’s qualification for Team USA 2005 may be one of the most impressive sleeper stories of the year. A 26-year-old family man from Sin City, Arrington, or “Oso” as he is known throughout the community, shocked the qualifier field in Atlanta with an impressive 3-course score of –73.

The 2005 Golden Tee World Championship is the largest event that Brant has ever qualified for and he says that he can hardly wait for Orlando. “I am extremely excited to represent the USA in the 2005 World Championship,” Arrington said. “GT has been the catalyst for many good times and the introduction to many good friends. This is a true honor,” he added.

Brant says that his favorite feature of Golden Tee LIVE is the addition of high-lofted clubs. When he’s not playing Golden Tee at the Kopper Keg or the Orchard Street Grill in Las Vegas, Arrington can be found with his family or hitting the slopes on his snowboard.

As colorful character as Arrington is, it’s no wonder why his on-screen GT LIVE golfer sports a polka dot shirt with white pants.

Brian Bernhardt

Gold Card # 136182
Nickname: “Bernz”
Age: 25
Hometown: North Liberty, IA
Marital Status: Fiancé - Allison
Lifetime GT Fore!

Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -31
Special Accomplishments:
POTY Blind Play Champion: 2003
Player’s Charity Champion: 2004
Team USA Member: 2003

Brian Bernhardt fell in love with Golden Tee in 2002 when he first played the game with his buddies. A few short years later, “Bernz” has climbed the ladder of GT success and reached superstar status in the highly competitive player community.

Brian is known mostly for his sharp, quick-thinking playing style and would be the hands down champion if speed were factored in to the contest’s score.

A Team USA member in 2003, Bernz missed the cut for the event in 2004 and was determined to qualify this year. When asked his thoughts about making this years’ squad, the 2003 Player’s Charity Champion simply replied, “I can’t believe it!”

When Brian isn’t sipping on a Budweiser Select at his favorite North Liberty pub, Penway Park, he loves nothing more than spending time with his fiancé, Allison.

Joe Caradonna

Gold Card # 114730
Nickname: “JoeCee”
Age: 33
Hometown: Warren, MI
Marital Status: Wife - Jen
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -21.95
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 2,274
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -31

For a name that can be found near the top of every major Golden Tee leaderboard in the past few years, it’s hard to believe that Joe Caradonna is a Team USA rookie in 2005! While he may not have qualified for the Worlds before, Joe is no stranger to the pressures of live Golden Tee competitions and is looking forward to competing in Orlando for the first time.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Joe said about his qualification for the team. “My play has improved each year and I am proud to have earned a spot on the team. I can’t wait to play against the World Team and maybe win a lot of money,” he added.

“JoeCee” was initially drawn to Golden Tee in 2001 for the prize money and since then his skills have helped him become one of the top earners in the International Tournament System’s history.

Joe and his wife, Jen, reside in the Golden Tee hotbed of Warren, MI. When he isn’t playing LIVE at his favorite bar, Augie’s, Joe can be found on the real links working on his golf game.

Tobin Carter

Gold Card # 67411
Nickname: “Toby”
Age: 32
Hometown: Orlando
Marital Status: Wife – Angela
Son - Nolan
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -16.12
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 458
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -30

Some may have called Tobin Carter an underdog going into the Team USA qualifier in Atlanta. That is unless they have ever played against him. Tobin may not be the most public figure in the game but his impressive scores have quietly built him a reputation that must now be reckoned with.

Hailing from the home of the World Championship, Orlando, Tobin is hoping that home field advantage is on his side while he competes in the game’s most prestigious event. “With the quality of players that are in the field, I am very excited and honored to make the team,” Carter said. “I’m looking forward to a fun event.”

Tobin is a 32-year-old Florida family man who can be found coaching his son’s baseball team when he is not at Orena Sports Bar playing Golden Tee LIVE. Tobin loves the new strategy that LIVE offers by giving players the ability to choose balls and clubs.

Tobin is another Team USA rookie and he is hoping his first experience is one to remember.

Chris Eversole

Gold Card # 228208
Nickname: “Sole”
Age: 27
Hometown: Atlanta, GA
Marital Status: Single
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -21.67
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 1,587
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -33
Special Accomplishments:

Team USA Member: 2003, 2004
Inducted into Golden Tee Society: 2003
Player of the Year (Scoring Avg.) 2003
Player of the Year Champion 2004

The Golden Tee World Championship just wouldn’t feel complete if this 27-year-old Atlanta grad student wasn’t competing. Chris Eversole claimed his fame not only by winning the 2003 World Championship in his rookie appearance, but also by his live event domination during that year.

While he isn’t entering this year’s Championship as the reigning champ, “Sole” is fired up to return to Orlando again in 2005. “I am extremely excited to be a part of Team USA one more time,” Chris explained. “I’m looking forward to seeing all my friends from around the world once again in Orlando this year.”

Chris’ friendly demeanor and uncanny knowledge of the game have earned him the reputation as an international Golden Tee icon. While the team cup slipped away from them last year, Chris is determined to help Team USA bring it back to American soil in 2005.

And while an infamous ESPN article featuring the former champ may say otherwise, Chris jokingly explains that he plays Golden Tee for only one reason – “to pick up chicks”.

Sean Gervais

Gold Card # 89530
Nickname: “Best In Tampa”
Age: 28
Hometown: Tampa Bay, FL
Marital Status: Single
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -18.38
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 136
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -29

With a tag like “Best in Tampa” displaying on leaderboards in which he competes, Sean Gervais doesn’t consider it just a clever name. This 28-year-old Florida man carries himself with an intense confidence in his game and is hoping to prove it to the world at the 2005 World Championship.

Sean began to prove his point at the Team USA Qualifier this past October in Atlanta when he impressed the field with a 5th place finish ahead of some of the game’s most notable players. When asked his thoughts about his outstanding performance and spot on the Team, the determined Floridian replied with one word, “Thrilled”.

Sean began playing Golden Tee in 2000 and enjoys playing LIVE at the Green Parrot Pub in Tampa where he estimates his time on the trackball to be around 30 hours a week!

The 2005 World Championship is the most important Golden Tee event that Sean has ever played in and he is looking forward to proving his worth on the game’s global stage.
