Nick is very pleased to be back for a return engagement in Orlando. When asked his most memorable moment from last year he was quick to answer, “When the clinching putt dropped in and we beat the Americans!”

Nick can be found sipping a Blue Light when he’s playing Golden Tee at Sharkey’s, and when he’s not playing GT, you can find him online playing poker. “There’s nothing like the competitiveness of Golden Tee, “ he said. “And the fact that you can make a profit at it is just icing on the cake!”

Edward Nesdoly

Gold Card # 8980
Nickname: “Nez”
Age: 26
Hometown: Waldheim, Saskatchewan

Lifetime GT Fore!

The Canadian contingent to the Worlds has distinguished itself for the past 3 years. Derek Gibb and Tim Glenn (twice) have finished as runners-up in the individual competition, and no one can understate the importance of the Canadian team in last year’s upset over the Americans. But making Team Canada is as much an accomplishment as performing well in the Worlds itself. This newest member of Team Canada still can’t believe the guys he beat to make the team. “Beating Anthony Goertz and Jay Wahl in Calgary is something I’ll always remember, “ he said. “Nobody really gave me a chance and I want to prove to everyone that I belong on the team.”

When he isn’t hanging out with his wife, Melissa, Nez can be found spinning a few at Mulligan’s in Saskatoon. This 10-handicapper on the real links also enjoys volleyball and playing guitar. His brew of choice is a local favorite, Great Western Light. An avowed palmer, Nez hopes that a $15,000 payday will change Melissa’s thoughts about Golden Tee. “She’s really not a gamer and probably thinks it’s time I grow up!” he joked.

Ryan Fehrens

Gold Card # N/A
Nickname: “G.A.” or “Key”
Age: 26
Hometown: Oakville, Ontario
Marital Status: Girlfriend – Amanda
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -18.58
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 784
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -30
Special Accomplishments: World Team Member: 2002

It’s been 3 years but he’s back! Runner-up to Graig Kinzler in the inaugural World Championship in 2002, Ryan is very pleased to finally put it all together again to make a run at the world title. Citing the competitiveness and camaraderie of Golden Tee as the most appealing aspects of the game, Ryan is quick to say that he “wins for fun,” but also knows that the money is important.

You can always find Ryan at Sharkey’s sipping a cold Budweiser when playing a few rounds of GT.

Anthony Goertz

Gold Card # N/A
Nickname: “Pony”
Age: 30
Hometown: Kitchener, Ontario
Marital Status: Single
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -21.96
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 1,825
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -31
Special Accomplishments: World Team Member: 2002, 2003, 2004

Besides Dean Liakakos and Martin Awatere, Anthony is the only other player in the world to have made it to Orlando all 4 years. Last year’s World Team captain, Pony is very thankful to have the opportunity to beat the Americans again. Can they do it? “It will be difficult – no doubt about it,” he said, “but we’ll certainly give it everything we have. It’s great to have a chance to play with the best the world has to offer. It’ll be a great time!”

When asked what he thinks about Golden Tee LIVE, Pony says that competing against others from different cities, countries and continents is just unbelievable. “It’s a great game and gives all players – pros and newbies alike – everything they want. It’s incredible!”

Enzo Polidori

Gold Card # N/A
Nickname: “Enzo”
Age: 38
Hometown: Brantford, Ontario
Marital Status: Wife – Janice
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -19.51
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 1,260
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -29
Special Accomplishments: World Team Member: 2003, 2004

Enzo returns to the Worlds for the third consecutive year. When asked his secret to success, he was quick to point out that it’s getting tougher and tougher every year. “The level of competition just keeps increasing, “ he said. “Golden Tee is such an incredible game. It’s constantly being updated and you’ve got to continue practicing and staying sharp or someone will be waiting to take your spot on the team. I’m very pleased to have made the team again.”

The Canadian player of the year in 2004, Enzo’s family is very supportive of his Golden Tee playing. We’re sure they’ll even be happier he brings home the $15,000 prize and the world champion title!

Ben Zeidenberg

Gold Card # N/A
Nickname: “Ben”
Age: 31
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
Marital Status: Wife – Barbie
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -19.97
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 1,112
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -30
Special Accomplishments: World Team Member: 2004

Back for the second consecutive year, Ben is hoping to recreate the euphoria of last year by beating the Americans again. But he knows this year will be much more difficult. “The World Team will be at a disadvantage due to the timing of the release of Golden Tee LIVE, “ he said. “But that won’t stop us from trying or having a good time in the process!”

A competitive bridge player, Ben is one of the more erudite members of the World Team. You can often find him answering questions on the different message boards throughout the GT community. “If I can help make the game more enjoyable for someone, then I’ve accomplished my goal,” he said. “When I first started playing the guys I met were great. That’s what I love the most about the Golden Tee community – the willingness of the guys to help new players. It’s very cool.”

TEAM EUROPE

David Reid

Gold Card # 4398
Nickname: “Kiltie, Baldy or Speedo”
Age: 42
Hometown: Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland
Marital Status: Wife - Corinne
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -20.01
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 591
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -28
Special Accomplishments: World Team Member: 2002, 2003

One of the most colorful characters (in a long list of characters!) in the Golden Tee community, Davy is the only competitor to have worn a kilt during team competition. Back for his third attempt at the world title, Davy is looking forward to renewing old acquaintances in Orlando. “I can’t wait to meet all the guys again, “ he said. “It’s too bad I wasn’t a here last year when we beat the Americans, but hopefully we can do it again.”

When not spinning a few games at the Lord Lounsdale pub, Davy’s a family man who enjoys coaching his son’s under-11 soccer team. His wife is very supportive of his Golden Tee playing and he says his son always makes him a good luck charm before tournaments. Maybe this year he’ll be lucky enough (and skillful enough) to bring home the title and the $15,000 check that goes with it!

Darren Stribling

Gold Card # 15038
Nickname: “Stribbo”
Age: 38
Hometown: Basiloon, Essex
Marital Status: Girlfriend - Tara
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -21.28
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 739
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -28

Stribbo, as he’s affectionately called by his teammates, is a World Team rookie, but his list of accomplishments is long and impressive. Winning the 2004 British Masters and the 2005 Scottish Open are just a few of his successes. When away from the family, this father of 4 enjoys nothing more than spinning a few games at the Basildon Snooker Hall while sipping a Foster’s Extra Cold. When asked his thoughts on making the World Team, Stribbo was direct and to the point. “It’s not about the money,” he said. “I’m just proud to represent my country.” Well spoken, Darren!

John Pullen

Gold Card # 7080
Nickname: “Brewster”
Age: 30
Hometown: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
Marital Status: Wife - Marion
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -17.97
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 720
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -30
Special Accomplishments: World Team Member: 2004

Back for a repeat performance at the Worlds, John’s looking forward to seeing all the guys in Orlando again. “It was great to be a part of our victory last year, “ he said. “I’m still in shock over making the team again – but I said I’d be back!”

The father of 3 boys, Brewster doesn’t have a lot of free time, but when he does have a moment to relax, he loves nothing more than to spin a few games of Golden Tee at his favorite pub, Croxley Guild of Sport. When he’s not playing GT, he enjoys football and real golf.

Phil Marsh

Gold Card # 25578
Nickname: “Fil. M”
Age: 35
Hometown: Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex
Marital Status: Girlfriend – Tricia
Lifetime GT Fore!
Scoring Average: -18.52
Lifetime GT Fore! Holes-in-One: 513
Best GT Fore! Score Ever: -30
Special Accomplishments: World Team Member: 2004

Our friends from across the pond truly enjoy having a good time when they travel to Orlando for the Worlds, and Phil certainly exemplifies that spirit. When asked what he’s looking forward to the most this year, Phil said, “I want to win my dollar back from Steve Sobe!”

Along those lines Phil responded that his favorite features of playing Golden Tee are the money, the beer, the ladies and the laughs the game brings. We’re not sure about the ladies being a part of GT, but the rest of his list is most certainly valid.

Since his girlfriend hasn’t warmed up to Golden Tee enough to join him in the States, Phil has invited his pal, Stubbsy, to travel with him again. Stubbsy is quite a character himself so it appears that this year’s tournament will not be short on laughs and good times.
