Chris Eversole - no name is as synonymous with World Championship success than his. With an unprecedented two World Champion titles under his belt, "Sole" has experienced more time in the World Championship spotlight than any other player in the history of the game. His presence on Team USA 2007 marks the fourth time the 28-year-old Atlanta native has earned the honor and his second as the team's captain.

As captain in 2004, Chris' squad was tagged with the only loss in Team USA history, a dubious distinction that the reigning champ plans to rectify in Vegas this year.

Chris' love of the game and uncanny skill is an inspiration to many of the top players in the Golden Tee community. And while he's enjoyed the success it's brought him, Chris says it's the friends he's made that keep him in the game. "I know it sounds cliché," the champ said. "Golden Tee is just a great way to relax with my friends locally and across the country."

"Parlow", "Dough Boy" or "Bagel Boy" - call him whatever you want, just don't forget to call Jeff Harlow one of the most talented Golden Tee players in the country. While he would never admit it, this humble, 32-year-old bagel baker from a small St. Louis suburb holds a profound understanding of the game that runs deeper than most could fathom. His title win in 2004 was initially pegged as the classic underdog success story, but Jeff's presence atop LIVE leaderboards ever since proved his win was far beyond a fluke.

When Jeff isn't working or playing Golden Tee at Side Pockets in St. Charles, MO he can be found spending time with his wife, Becky, or playing volleyball with his pals.

When asked to predict the outcome of this year's individual championship, Jeff – as expected – said, "I don't think it's my time this year. Maybe next year," he joked. "I think it's Graig's [Kinzler] time again!"

His friendly demeanor and fiercely competitive nature garnered media attention from MTV to the New York Times and his deep knowledge of the game has kept him one of the most respected leaders in the player community.

While the 27-year-old Chicagoan has ridden the World Championship wave once before, "Kinz" is more prepared than ever to fight for the title in 2007. "I can't let [Chris] Eversole be the only two-time champion," Graig joked.

A scratch golfer in real life, when Kinz isn't hitting the links – virtual or outdoors - you can find him with his girlfriend, Cortney, or rollerblading around his north side Chicago neighborhood.

Graig is looking forward to being a part of the team for his fourth time in 2007 and has high hopes for success at the Tilted Kilt in Las Vegas.

His name has adorned Golden Tee leaderboards since day one and his face is recognized by hundreds of Golden Tee players around the world. While his skill rivals the game's best, it's Dean Liakakos' heart that has earned him the unanimous, unofficial title of Golden Tee's global ambassador.

The humble and approachable 41-year-old is the owner of King's Table Billiards in Dayton, OH, a local pool hall/Golden Tee room that is revered by many as the home of competitive Golden Tee in the Midwest. Dean is the only American to compete in every World Championship and his experience with the event stems deeper than just competition, it's about the people. "I've made friends around the world because of the World Championship," Dean said. "The event is an important part of our global player community and participating in it for a fifth time is truly an honor."

Dean has traveled the globe to visit the friends he's made through the World Championship. Whether to England, Australia or New Zealand, he and his pals can be found spinning games in local pubs, sipping pints, having some laughs and talking the international language of Golden Tee.

Matt Estepp
2007 Midwest Team USA Shootout Champion

Special Accomplishments -

Regional Champion:
"Mister E"

Round Lake, IL
Wife-Rebecca, Son-Dennis (1)

2002
Midwest - 2006

After winning the inaugural Golden Tee Midwest Regional Championship in 2006, Matt Estepp carved his name on the "GT Majors" winner list in stone. This long overdue recognition proved the sentiment speculated by the player community that "Mister E" is one of the best Golden Tee LIVE players around.

A 34-year-old business analyst by trade, Matt is part of the Golden Tee class that calls the legendary Duffy's Sports Pub in Palatine, IL (formerly known as Splinter's) his home GT bar. When he's not spending time with his family, Matt can be found at Duffy's playing Golden Tee with his pals and tuning up his game for live competitions.

"I put a lot of time and effort into making myself better this year," Matt said, "and I felt like I had a good chance of making the team because of it." When asked his thoughts on participating on Team USA for his second time he replied, "I just want to enjoy the event and the camaraderie that goes along with it. I believe that anyone at the Worlds has the ability to win, but if it's my year the feeling would be indescribable."

Rod Critchlow
2007 Western Team USA Shootout Champion

Rod Critchlow Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Family Status:
"Sothpa"
37
Topeka, KS
Son-Caleb (3)

The name "Sothpa" has been thrown around the Golden Tee community since the late nineties. While he's never participated in the World Championship, Rod Critchlow has seen his fair share of high-intensity tournaments including a long run in the Golden Tee National Championships.

The 37-year-old sales manager from Topeka, KS took a break from competitive Golden Tee events during the past few years, only to shock the GT world at the Western Regional in Las Vegas last summer when he topped 15 of the region's best to win a seat on Team USA 2007. "That was the first time I played competitively in a long time," Sothpa said about the Regional. "I thought I would just relax and enjoy myself. Turned out that I played better when I took the pressure off myself!"

When asked if he could pull off a similar upset at the World Championship, Rod, staying in humble underdog character said, "Nah! However, if the stars line up, the wind blows right and the ball bounces left, I'll give myself a chance at the title!" Welcome back, Sothpa. It's going to be great to have you back in Las Vegas.

Chris Litzinger
2007 Southern Team USA Shootout Champion

Chris Litzinger Nickname:
Age:

Marital Status:

Special Accomplishments -
Team USA Member:
"Cincinnasti" or "Litz"
26
Cincinnati, OH
Single

2003

Chris Litzinger. What a reputation this 26-year-old Cincinnatian has built for himself among Golden Tee players around the world. "Cincinnasti" or "Litz" as his buddies affectionately call him, has matured his game throughout the past few years to become one of the top 5 Golden Tee LIVE players on the planet.

A physical therapist by trade, Chris can be found most nights at Snows Lake Bar in Colerain Township, OH spinning rounds of Golden Tee at an estimated 20 hours a week. "I started playing Golden Tee simply because it was a great bar game," Chris said. "I've kept involved in the game because of the people that I've met. It's a very special community that share a lot of common interests."

Litz's rap sheet of tournament wins is one of the longest in the game. But his experience with "the big one" has been less optimal. With 2007 marking only his second experience on Team USA, Chris intends to bring his A-game. "Anyone can win," he said. "But if I play to the best of my ability, I will have as good a shot as anyone."

Andy Haas
2007 Eastern Team USA Shootout Champion

Andy Haas Nickname:

2004
East - 2006
2004

At this point in time, no man is as respected among competitive Golden Tee players than Andy Haas. This young, small-town boy from Stow, OH has won almost everything he's been a part of and earned just about every Golden Tee honor in existence. But one spot remains vacant in his trophy case and Andy is determined to rectify that in Las Vegas this year.

"The World Championship is the biggest event and the one that I want to win," the leading money winner of '05 and '06 said. He's been oh-so-close three times at the World Championship and now he enters Las Vegas in 2007 to compete for a fourth time - this time as one of the favorites.

Andy's love for competitive golf runs deeper than Golden Tee. When he's not hammering a trackball at his home bar, the Winking Lizard in Stowe, this recent college grad can be found on the real links where he competes with his friends as a 9-handicapper.

When asked his thoughts about being one of the World Champion favorites this year, Andy joked, "I heard Gary [Colabuono, IT marketing director] picked me to win. I'm not a favorite, I'm jinxed."

John Totura
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #1

John Totura Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:
"Razor Ramon"
27
Naperville, IL
Single

John Totura is the ultimate bar guy’s guy. A sports-loving 27-year-old from Naperville, IL, John makes his living as a bar manager at Tailgaters Sports Bar and Grill in Bolingbrook, coincidentally, one of Chicagoland's official Golden Tee hotspots.

John first discovered Golden Tee in 2002 as a way to hang out with friends and break the monotony of working in the bar biz. "Golden Tee gives me an escape from the daily grind," he said. "I also love the competition and the fact that I can compete LIVE with hundreds of players while they're miles away."

Beyond Golden Tee, John loves all "bar sports" except for pool and calls himself a big Chicago White Sox fan.

When asked his expectations about competing on Golden Tee's global stage, John said, "I'm not really nervous about anything, I just hope to play to the best of my abilities. I also hope I can bail my partner out in the alternate shot portion of the team event, rather than the other way around," he added.

John is honored to compete in the Golden Tee World Championship and is planning on taking his longtime friend, and fellow Golden Tee fanatic, Mike "Illinifan" Chesnut along with him to Las Vegas.

Danny Beall
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #2

Danny Beall Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:

Special Accomplishments -
Regional Champion:
"Dannyboy" or "Squibis"
30
Wichita, KS
Wife - Beth, Son - Dave (1)

West - 2006

Danny Beall became an active member of the Golden Tee player community in 2004 and things haven't been the same ever since. Not only is he one of the most vocal and entertaining players in America, Dannyboy is one hell of a competitor. He's barely missed the cut for the World Championship twice now, most recently when he lost to Rod "Sothpa" Critchlow in the Western Region Team USA Shootout.

"I almost made the team in 2004 and missed by 1,764 Great Shot Points at the Team USA Qualifier in Chicago," the 30-year-old family man said. "I knew that this year was my greatest shot ever to win a spot, only later to find out there was no qualifier!" But the unstoppable force of serendipity helped Dannyboy become the second selection in the 2007 "Love of the Game" Selection Draft. "I couldn't believe it," he said. "The webcast's sound cut out for about five seconds right as Duffer Dan drew a name and said "you've got to be kidding me, it's" I had a feeling it was me," he said. "And the 37 text messages I received seconds later confirmed it! It was unbelievable!"

The addition of Dannyboy to Team USA flies in the face of conventional wisdom. With 20+ hours of Golden Tee LIVE practice under his belt for the past few years, Danny is a draft pick with a real shot at winning the World Championship title. "The World Championship means a whole lot to me," he explained. "I’ve been trying to get on the team for a long time. This is my time."

Danny, his wife, Beth and one-year-old son, Dave, reside in Wichita, KS, where he works full time for Cessna Aircraft.

Ryan Torkelson
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #3

Ryan Torkelson Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:
"Rye!"
33
Crystal, MN
Wife – Meghan, Son – Nicklaus (6)

When his name was called as the third selection in the Team USA draft, Ryan Torkelson accepted entrance into both the World Championship and his first Golden Tee tournament ever! A resident of Crystal, MN - a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis - "Rye" makes up one of two Golden Tee fans selected from the "Land of 10,000 Lakes".

A bar manager by trade, Ryan considers himself a huge Golden Tee fan and plays the game an estimated 15 hours each week. "I'm a video game junkie," Ryan explained. "That’s how I came to love Golden Tee."

Ryan wasn’t able to watch the live draft on Goldentee.com and actually found out that he was selected through a friend of his. "You don’t want to know how I celebrated," he joked.

Being a part of the Golden Tee World Championship is both exciting and nerve-racking to Ryan. "It's chance to compete with the best Golden Tee players in the world," he said. "I just hope that I don't get too nervous."

The 33-year-old family man can be found paintballing when he’s not spinning the trackball.

David Burgess
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #4

David Burgess Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:
"DdoubleU"
44
Virginia Beach, VA
Wife – Tina, Children – Kory (21), Kody (20), Britney (18), Kayla (16)

David Burgess' first competitive Golden Tee experience came in November of 2006 when he competed in the Golden Tee Eastern Regional Championship. Little did he know as he teed-off at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Syracuse that four short months later his name would be selected to compete on Golden Tee Team USA!

Originally of Saratoga, NY, David now calls Virginia Beach, VA his home where he works as a contractor by day. By night, you can usually find David spinning games with his buddies over at their local watering hole, Ike's, where the 44-year-old family man can be found sipping coffee rather than beer.

David admits that he needs to fine-tune his putting before he heads to Vegas if he's going to have a shot at all. "I can't wait to get there and give it my best," he said. "Being selected for Team USA felt like winning the lottery! I'm very excited."

A close friend of Dave's passed the message to him after he was selected on March 2. Upon finding out, David said, "I was so happy that I actually broke out in dance!"

Jeffrey Hatfield
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #5

Jeffrey Hatfield Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:
"Watchitpeter"
50
Knoxville, TN
Single

The new Team USA draft structure proved that there are literally hundreds of dedicated Golden Tee fans in America just itching to experience the game at a higher level. Some we know, some we don’t and some, like Jeffrey Hatfield, have been around since the beginning.

Jeffrey began playing Golden Tee in 1997 in Knoxville, TN where he owns a bar called Kingston Alley. He’s been spinning trackballs for years with his buddies but it wasn’t until the Team USA Selection Draft that his name would be spoken in connection with the game’s greats. "This is truly a dream come true for me," the 50-year-old Golden Tee veteran said about joining Team USA. "I’m excited to learn a lot of new shots and to meet everyone. But I have to admit that I’m a bit nervous about playing in the event."

Jeffrey’s long-time love of Golden Tee stems from the game’s competition and camaraderie. "No matter where I go I can always get a game," he said. "I love to compete – especially on the LIVE leaderboard. It will be nice to finally play in person alongside some of the great players I consistently see on the boards."

Jeffrey is an avid golfer and fan of the University of Tennessee and the Atlanta Braves.

Ramsey Thomas
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #6

Ramsey Thomas Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:
"RamZ"
33
Minneapolis, MN
Single

Some things are just meant to be and Ramsey Thomas' selection for Team USA is one of them! Ramsey has been a part of nearly every Golden Tee tournament during the past five years with the exception of one, the World Championship. He's been close to making Team USA the conventional route but it wasn’t until this year’s Selection Draft that "RamZ" would seal the deal.

"I can't believe that I got selected," the 33-year-old educational security professional said. "I was actually on the golf course in Orlando enjoying my vacation when I was picked. I didn't even know it happened until I saw 25 text messages afterwards in the clubhouse. I was pretty excited."

Ramsey is part of the Minneapolis Golden Tee contingent, known best for their collection of talented and fun-loving players. He claims to have no home bar in Minneapolis. "I like to spread the wealth," he joked.

Even though he was a draft selection, Ramsey feels he has a decent shot at the title. "I'd call my self 50/50," he said in regard to his expectations. "I'm just really looking forward to seeing all my friends and being a part of the event."

Matt Keogh
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #7

Matt Keogh Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:
"Keo"
37
Dallas, TX
Wife – Teranne, Children – Jessie, Max and James

Matthew Keogh is making World Championship history! While he and his family make Dallas, TX their home, expect this Australian-born 37-year-old to greet you with "g’day" rather than "howdy". "Keo" is the first World Championship competitor ever to be native to an opposing team’s country and while his accent may be deceiving, he’s as American as it gets.

"I started playing in 2001 when I moved to the US from Australia," Matt said. "Golden Tee is great fun at the pub and I love the skill and nerve it requires. I’ve met some good friends because of it too," he added.

"Keo" works as an IT consultant by trade in Dallas where he and his wife, Teranne, make their home with their three lovely children. When he’s not working or with his family, Matt can be found rolling a few games with his pals at Al’s Hideaway in Dallas.

When asked his thoughts on being a part of the World Championship, Matt described it as cosmic. "When the Team USA process was announced at the beginning of ’07, I told my wife that I was going to get picked. I just had a feeling and here I am," he said. "It’s a special honor for me to represent the USA, especially after gaining my US citizenship just last year. I just hope the Australians don’t hold it against me," he joked.

Matt is most excited to contribute in the Ryder Cup-style team competition.

Justin Taylor
"Love of the Game" Draft Selection #8

Justin Taylor Nickname:
Age:
Hometown:
Marital Status:
"Oregon Boy"
36
Ontario, OR
Single

Aside from being the home of legendary PGA star and game commentator Peter Jacobsen, the state of Oregon and Golden Tee Golf aren’t often associated. But nestled against the eastern border of the state, halfway between Portland and Salt Lake City, sits the town of Ontario and the state’s biggest Golden Tee fan, Justin Taylor.

Justin started playing Golden Tee in 2001 at his local pub, Rusty’s Lounge. "I love the game because it gives my friends and I something to do in between beers or when we’re not on a real golf course," he said. "Now that I’ve made Team USA I realize it’s something that may never happen to me again. This is my opportunity to play against the best and learn more about the game," he added.

Justin heard that he had been selected for Team USA through a buddy and figured that it was a prank. "I thought he was pulling my leg," he said. "I called my Mom and had her check Goldentee.com as proof for me. You can always trust your Mom!" he joked.

In regards to his expectations in the event, Justin considers himself the "underdog of underdogs". "I’ve got nothing to lose," he said. "If I beat anybody, they will hear about it for the rest of their lives. It will live on in GT lore for all of eternity!" he joked. "Really, though, my goal is to win a round or two."

When he’s not playing Golden Tee, the 36-year-old IT manager loves to ski, play real golf and enjoy a few beers with his friends.
